Ra better known as the sun god; whose own eyes were thought to be the sun and the moon. The bringer of both the dawn and the night.
The mythology of Ra has always been one of my favourites. He was said by some to have sprung into existence on his own. When Ra created the gods Shu and Tefnut, the world consisted only of infinite ocean and there was no light to see them by. To solve this dilemma, Ra created an eye and sent it out to find his children.
Upon returning, the eye discovered that Ra had created a second eye for himself in its absence. The first eye became angry, and in order to pacify it, Ra gave it more power than the second. Thus, the first eye became the sun and the second eye became the moon.
Some tales said that after creating the gods and celestial bodies, Ra wept and his tears became humanity. Other versions held that humanity sprung from the tears of the first eye as it wept during its search for Shu and Tefnut.
His legacy is interwoven in much of Egypts history and we have long felt he deserved a home in our signature line.
Our candles are hand crafted, local and made with coconut apricot wax. The wax is renewable, sustainable and never tested on animals. We use high quality fragrance oils that are paraben and phlalate-free.
Luxurious Coconut Apricot Wax will often not complete a full melt pool on the first or even second burn. This is entirely normal for this wax. These candles are safety tested to burn evenly within safe parameters throughout.
While we often have stock on hand occasionally we have to pour special orders, please note that vegetable waxes need a 10-14 cure time to achieve maximum hot throw so delivery time may vary. If we need to prepare specially for you we will let you know.
We recommend burning for at least three hours at a time on your first two to three burn cycles to ensure you get the most out of your candle. Always trim your wick to 1/8 " prior to lighting. This will ensure your candles burn life.
We use premium luxury cracking wicks made from all natural wood. Burn time varies: 4 oz - 20 to 25 hrs, 7.5 oz - 40hrs plus & 14 oz - 90hrs plus.
All of our Candles are Reiki infused and ritually charged.
